Occupational Therapy

For those individuals experiencing different medical conditions or disabilities to develop, improve or restore functional daily living skills, occupational therapy services are provided. Treatment is geared towards helping patients with everyday activities, and this is achieved through a treatment plan based on the individual patient.

Treatment plans are developed by the therapist and are based on the patient and her environment. These plans typically include the following elements:

1. Observation of patients performing different tasks
2. Assisting patients with various tasks
3. Demonstration of exercises that can help relieve pain
4. Evaluation of a patient’s home or workplace
5. Education of a patient’s family as to how to care for the patient
6. Recommendation of special equipment and instruction on how to use them
